GET READY FOR J&B MET 2013
Hi Eventers,
The J&B Met, which takes place at the Kenilworth Racecourse on February 2, will see Cape Town being transformed into a party zone for the fun-loving and fashion conscious.
With the theme, Made to Fly, expect ground breaking fashion and bold attitudes by icons styled for success.
The event is regarded as South Africa’s most prestigious horse race and Cape Town’s premier social event, the J&B Met celebrates its 36th anniversary as the country’s longest standing sports sponsorship.
The event showcases SA’s sixteen top racehorses who compete for a stake of R2,5 million over 2 000 meters.
Tickets for the J&B Met cost R185 and are available through iTickets.co.za. Keep a look out for J&B Met fashion specials at selected fashion boutiques in the major centres. Visit www.jbmet.co.za for more information or follow @Official JB Met on Twitter for regular updates.

INVITATION
Don't you get excited when you are invited to an event? I know I am always happy to receive invites,so keep them coming.
The purpose of an invitation is to let people know that you are having a party or a celebration(event). The invitation tells you what,who,when,where.
eg: You are cordially invited to the 1st birthday party(what) of ZeeEventlife.(who)
Date: 17 January 2013 (when)
Venue: 1263 NU14 Mdantsane,East London (where)
Time: 1pm (when)
Dress code : Casual (what)
Theme/Colours : Pink (what)
R.S.V.P: Zola 0795171841 (who)
N.B :This is just an idea of the information that needs to be on an invite.
It is important for the event host to send out invitations to potential guests well in advance,you should also remember that you might be hosting your event at the same day and time as another event.Give your guests enough time to make up their mind whether to come to your event or not.
When you are invited to an event remember that it does not automatically mean that you are going to the event.R.S.V.P after recieving an invitation.This is important because the event host needs to know how many people are coming to the event.You need to R.S.V.P wherther you are going to the event or not.
If you have an event theme,the theme of your event should be incorporated in you invitation design.

AFRICA DAY 2012!
For someone who has never planned an event before I bow down to my Cameroonian brother Solomon Atah.
As we all celebrated Africa day on the 25th of May,I was the master of ceremony at the Cameroon Land of Promise event which was themed "Forever Cameroon".
The event celebrated the beauty of African arts at the Protea hotel Victoria Junction in Greenpoint,Cape Town.
The idea and concept was great although the people involved in the event were not properly informed.As the host of the event I did not have the program and I had to make lemonade out of the lemons that I was given.The responsibility does not only lie with the event organiser though ,as a mc,performer ,caterer etc,for any event it is also your duty to find out what your role and responsibility on the day of the event is in order to guarantee yourself doing your best.
The guests seemed to enjoy themselves that evening and we were all united,there was no South African,Cameroonian or Malawian,etc, we were all Africans.

Soweto Fashion Week......
If you are in Johannnesburg and surrounding,you could go and check out the Soweto Fashion Week from the 24th to 26th of May 2012.
The Soweto Fashion Week was launched in 2011 by founder and CEO Stephen Manzini.
It creates a platform for the talent of local designers from various townships around Soweto, where they showcase their labels to the media, celebrities and fashion scouts, the event has prepared for bigger and better things this year.
The event will be held at the Soweto Hotel on Freedom square,tickets can be bought through Computicket at R40.

Rolling the red carpet and welcoming you all to ZeeEventlife!
